German sportswear manufacturer PUMA has introduced their latest “InCycle” collection. The products of this collection are either recyclable or biodegradable. It is the first closed-loop collection of the brand which includes footwear, apparel and accessories.
The Puma InCycle collection is Cradle to Cradle Certified and a great step by PUMA in its mission to become the most desirable and sustainable sport-lifestyle company. The “Bring Me Back” program of the company let user to return the product at the end of its life cycle reducing the environmental footprint of consumers too.
The biodegradable range of the PUMA InCycle collection features a fully compostable PUMA’s Basket Tee, PUMA’s Shopper and PUMA Basket lifestyle sneaker who’s upper is made from a blend of organic cotton and linen while the sole is made from biodegradable plastic APINATbio.
The recyclables collection features a PUMA Track Jacket and the PUMA Backpack. The recyclable Track Jacket is made from recycled polyester which is derived from used PET bottles and the PUMA Backpack is made of polypropylene which will sent back to the original manufacturer in China and then recycled to produce new backpacks.
The PUMA InCycle collection will be available worldwide in Puma stores from March 2013.
