To celebrate the bicentennial of Italian romantic composer Giuseppe Verdi, Italian manufacturer of writing instruments Montegrappa had teamed up with designer Mario Cavazzuti to release a limited edition pen.
Honoring one of the greatest composers and musicians of all times, Montegrappa has worked with Foundation Giuseppe Verdi and Teatro Regio di Parma opera house to produce this exclusive line of writing instruments.
The collection is limited to 1813 pens signifying the year he was born. It includes 500 fountain pens, 500 roller balls and 813 twist-action ballpoint pens. Each pen is turned from rods of black resin and is highlighted with rhodium plated trim. The cap is laser engraved with a portion of Giuseppe Verdi’s face on one side and his signature on the other.
The cap’s band features the dates of the anniversary (1813-2013) on the front and the wording “Bicentenario” at the back. The top of the cap features Montegrappa logo which is surrounded by the Italian tricolor. Teatro Regio di Parma’s Foundation logo decorates the grip section of the pen. The fountain pen is fitted with a cartridge /converter filling system and a rhodium plated 18K gold nib.
