A rare 1965 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 Coupe will be up for auction on July 12 at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed in UK. Besides being one of only 500 of its type built, the real catch is that this Ferrari was the first car of one of the most significant names in the history of music, John Lennon.
John Lennon’s Ferrari will be auctioned off by Bonhams auction house and is expected to fetch between $280,000 and $340,000.
The founding member of the Beatles bought the car on February 1965, the day he passed his driving test for a price of £6,500. Finished in Azzuro blue paint with matching blue interiors, John drove the car for three years until October 1967.
The car has been restored in its original state and will come with a history file of its origin along with correspondence to Lennon.
