Swiss manufacturer of luxury writing instruments, Caran d’Ache has released a series of limited edition fountain and roller pens to celebrate the Chinese New Year 2014 which according to Chinese zodiac is the Year of the Horse. The art of piece is dedicated to a Horse who is known for its elegant, independent and majestic character. The designers and craftsmen have tried to incorporate these characteristics of the horse into the writing instrument. The handmade pen comes with a black Chinese lacquer body with engraving of the animal highlighted with ivory Chinese lacquer. The body is decorated with numerous coats of ivory and lacquer which are followed by a specific drying time and final polishing.
The fountain pen comes with a Rhodium-coated 18-carat gold nib which is available in several widths (M, F and B). The Caran d’Ache Year of the Horse pen is available in gold-plated finishes and comes in a limited edition of 888 fountain and 888 roller pens with numberings engraved on the tip of the cap. Previously also, Caran d’Ache has released exceptional writing instruments devoted to the culture and heritage of China in the form of Year of the Dragon and the Year of the Snake luxury pens.
