TAG Heuer, a well renowned manufacturer of premium watches, sunglasses and occasional high-end smartphones has unveiled the world’s first phone which comes with perpetual power reserve. Christened as Meridiist Infinite, the luxury phone was introduced at Baselworld 2014, one of the world’s largest trade shows of watch and jewellery industry which concluded last week in Basel, Switzerland. The smartphone has been created as a result of collaborative effort between Atelier Haute Communication and Sunpartner Technologies. The TAG Heuer Meridiist Infinite features Wysips Crystal placed between the sapphire glass and the LCD display which incorporates transparent photovoltaic technology to charge itself using solar power and artificial light source also.
Made form grade 5 Titanium and carbon, the dual SIM phone comes with a 2.4-inch LCD screen and a secondary OLED panel which displays notifications and the battery level. The smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and 8GB of storage capacity. The all new Meridiist Infinite by TAG Heuer will be coming in a limited edition of 1911 units and is expected to cost in excess of $4000.
