Last year at Milan Furniture Fair 2013, we saw Maserati and furniture design house Zanotta join hands to create the Maserati lounge chair by Zanotta. Now at this year’s Milan Design Week, the two giants have expanded their partnership by unveiling a new collection of furniture series. Crafted by Milan-based architects Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, the collection includes a foot rest, Corina chair and a Maestrale table.
Inspired by Italian-born American artist Harry Bertoia, the foot rest features a chrome base with a nickel-plated glossy black finish. It comes with removable quilted cover which is available in three different color shades. Characterized by a metal rod frame, the Corina chair is made using steel legs and comes with removable leather cover. The last piece of the collection is the Maestrale table which comes with Canaletto walnut top and optional steel chrome-plated or nickel-plated glossy black legs.
Peugeot Design Lab has also unveiled a sofa made from carbon fiber and volcanic rock at the 2014 Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Named Onyx, the three meter-long hand carved sofa was competed in 70 days and has a worth of 135,000 Euros. Maserati by Zanotta Capsule Collection and the Onyx sofa by Peugeot will be on display from 8 to 13 April at the Milan Furniture Fair 2014.
