Micromax, Gurgaon-based consumer electronics company is entering the wearable tech market with its YuFit fitness band. Developed by Yu, the new age technology sub- brand of Micromax, the Yu fit band is priced at just INR 999 (about $15). Scheduled to go on sale next month, the YuFit fitness band is all set to give hard competition to Xiaomi Mi Band which was launched in India recently.
The tracking band comes with an OLED display that provides user alerts for incoming calls and messages. The band also comes with Find My Phone feature that can help you find your smartphone. YuFit is integrated with HealthifyMe app which tracks sleep patterns, distance walked and calories burnt and provide you with the accurate data. The wristband let users track their calorie intake as well and is positioned to be the first calorie counter for Indian food.
Besides the YuFit fitness band, Yu have also launched its second phone, the Yuphoria with a price tag of INR 6,999($109). The dual SIM smartphone with 4G support comes with a 5-inch 720p HD display and runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. It features an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera and boasts 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 2,230 mAh battery.
Well, that’s not all; the company has also developed a new health sensor. Dubbed HealthYU cassette, the device can measure body vitals such as heart rate, ECG, respiration rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation and skin temperature. Priced at INR 4,999, the HealthYU cassette health tracker can work with any smartphone.
