Tired of rushing to work in crowded public transport or manual bicycle? Well, you can easily get rid of this day-to-day messy traveling, all thanks to the world’s smallest electric bike dubbed A-Bike Electric. This compact bike is based on the original A-Bike concept design, which was created by British inventor Sir Clive Sinclair.
However, the new smallest, folding electric bike is designed especially to change the way you commute everyday. Weighing just 26Ibs (12kg), the bike is easy to transport and unfolds in mere 10 seconds. This means you can quickly stretch out your two-wheeler without any delay to your work. Moreover, it can be folded back after you reach office and carried inside to store in your work desk or cupboard.
It comes with a removable 24-volt 5.8-Ah lithium battery that can be charged via USB. The battery takes complete 2.5 hours to get fully charged from empty. The best thing about the bike is its controls, which allow the user to easily shift between electric-assist and pure manual modes, using just a single power switch.
If you feel tired while riding the bike manually, you can easily shift to electric-assist mode that automatically starts pedaling when you’re slowing down. In electric mode, the bike can take you up to 12.5mph (20 km/h) for a maximum range of about 15 miles (25 km). Thus, its a great vehicle for lazy commuters as well.
Worried about balancing such tiny wheels? Don’t be. As this amazing electric bike’s two-chain reduction system allows the riders to pedal at the same rate like any regular bike. So forget tedious commuting modes and switch to the all-new electric biking.
The project is currently seeking funds on Kickstarter for initial amount of about £40,000 (approx. US $62,523). A pledge of £515 (approx. US $805) will get you one, when the shipping begins. However, estimated retail price for the smallest electric bike is $1,089.
