Thought you need cosplay costumes to look like your favorite superhero? Well, sometimes fantastic makeup and body paint skills are enough to turn yourself into an amazing comic book character, just like Argenis Pinal. He is California-based cosmetologist who often likes to transform himself or certain models into various real-life superhero characters using body paint and of course his excellent artistic skills.
On looking at the images, you may think that these are hand-drawn paintings. But let me tell you, these are not illustrations. In fact a closer look at each painting will show you facial characteristics of Argenis. He does such a wonderful job that no one can figure out that they’re looking at a real person and not a portrait, until he moves.
To begin with, he first outlines his face with dark makeup lines and then give fine detailing to the face so that it exactly replicates a specific comic book character. Once the face painting is done, the look is further completed using wigs, contact lenses and other props.
So far Argenis has repainted replicas of several superheroes and villains from marvel comics such as Superman, Venom, Joker, Tony Stark, Two-Face, Thor, etc. Besides male superhero characters, he has also transformed himself into female characters like She-Hulk, Black Widow and Wonder Woman.
These mind blowing realistic superhero characters by Argenis proves how widespread geeks are when it comes to prove their talent. After seeing his great work, I’m not surprised why he is so popular on Instagram with more than 100,000 followers. You can see more of his remarkable creations on his official Instagram account.
