Imperiali Genève, Swiss luxury goods brand founded by longtime friends David Pasciuto and Stéphane Nazzal has unveiled the world’s most expensive humidor. Dubbed the Emperador cigar chest, this piece of art is undoubtedly the most exclusive and prestigious cigar chest ever to be designed and produced. That is why this one-of-a-kind masterpiece comes with a staggering price of one million Swiss francs ($1,013,890).
Crafted in Switzerland, the 70 cm long, 45 cm wide and 30 cm high Emperador cigar chest consists of 2,675 high-quality components. The luxurious humidor features an Imperiali flying tourbillion timepiece comprising 323 components. Entirely hand-produced by a master watchmaker in the Swiss Jura, it comes with a delicate “Clous de Paris guilloché” dial. More than 18,000 hours of work over the span of two years went into the development of the world’s most expensive cigar chest. Nearly one hundred professionals (traditional craftsmen, talented micromechanics, engineers, watchmakers and designers) from 27 trades have combined their expertise to produce the masterpiece.
The chest only opens after entering a correct code sequence set by the user. By brushing a finger over the golden touch buttons forming the 9 letters of Imperiali, the invisible LCD screen is activated. User then just has to enter the password by touching one or several of the buttons to open the chest. The Emperador houses 24 Grand Cru cigars wrapped in four gold leaves and delicately preserved in their individual glass casing. These cigars come from fertile soils of the Jamastran Valley in South Honduras and the Jalapa Valley of northern Nicaragua.
The front drawer of the Emperador cigar comes with a cigar cutter, a table lighter, and an ashtray. Imperiali has developed the world’s first relative humidity regulation system for the Emperador cigar chest that ensures a constant humidity level of 70% and a temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. The humidor features three indicators which offer real time information about relative humidity and temperature inside the chest, the power reserve and the number of cigars remaining.
The $1 Million Emperador Cigar Chest by Imperiali Genève will be created in a limited edition of just 12 pieces annually.
