Slouching at your work desk is obviously not good for your health, so standing desks were introduced to solve the problem. But most of us find standing for hours too tiring and uncomfortable. That’s when the Altwork Station enters to take things to the next level. It is an ergonomic work furniture, which is designed to let the user’s sit, stand or recline for maximum comfort while working.
Created by California-based startup Altwork, the flexible workstation is every employee’s fantasy, who often dream of lying down whilst working. It is intended for those who spend most of their time at desk, so that they can work comfortably without any back pains or other health issues.
The basic working station consists of an ergonomic chair, a tiny desk and a massive monitor stand, although extra stands and attachments can be purchased as per requirement. Using a small desk-mounted control, the different positions of the workstation can be controlled electronically as per the user’s convenience. The station is also equipped with adjustable levers that allow you to control the finer aspects of its position.
Altwork Station is indeed going to be a revolutionary future in office health, and might replace regular desks and chairs. However, you need to pay a hefty price of about US $5,900 for such flexibility during your work. Early-adopters who pre-order it now, the workstation will be relatively cheaper for $3,900 with shipping expected in mid-2016.
