Of all the superheroes, Batman has always been the most favorite to all the generations. The dedication of some avid fans for this iconic character is so great that they have actually turned this passion into a genuine career. One such Batman aficionado is Logansport, Indiana-based Mark Racop who has spent the past 31 years precisely crafting the perfect Batmobile replica. Over this course of time, the 50-year-old spent almost $250,000 on researching about the vehicle and also on building it as the exact replica of the Batmobile.
With expertise in crafting these beautiful vehicles, Mark Racop has dedicated his life to build 1966 Batmobile Replicas for other batman enthusiasts and wealthy customers as well. He has a committed team of ten people that works six days a week to build these art cars. Based on the retro vehicle used in the 1960s American television series, a Batmobile replica takes about eight months to build by the Fiberglass Freaks team. The price starts anywhere from around $80,000 and can go up to $220,000 depending upon the customers need.
The company was created in 1983 and is officially licensed by DC Comics to build 1966 Batmobile replicas. Like the original car, these retro looking vehicles comes with a black and red gloss finish. They are powered by a 525hp LS3 Chevrolet Performance Crate Engine and has a fiberglass body. These replicas come equipped with some cool features from the original such as Flamethrower “Rocket Exhaust” tube and Accurate “Batcave Radio Link” rear antenna.
