Montblanc, renowned for its premier writing instruments, has recently unveiled its Great Characters Edition pens that are designed to pay tribute to the ‘father of pop art,’ Andy Warhol. Even after decades since his death, Warhol still remains the icon- who brought ‘high art’ and ‘commercial art’ together. Inspired by his unforgettable Campbell’s soup work, the luxury pen maker has created the stunning three piece collection that celebrates and pays tribute to the legendary artist.

Andy Warhol Special Edition pens include both roller ball and fountain pens, featuring a stainless steel cap adorned with images of four Tomato Soup Cans, and silkscreen printing can also be seen on the clip’s design. However, to give it a contemporary touch, Montblanc has brilliantly contrasted cobalt blue resin body of the pen with orange rings. These bold colors evoke some vibrant variation in the traditional age-old design.

Apart from that, the cap ring is etched with the artist’s signature quote, “Art is what you can get away with.’’ This will certainly inspire Worhol’s fans while appreciating the art of writing. The fountain pen is priced at $940, as it’s finished in rhodium-coated gold nib- engraved with a dollar sign. Whereas, the rollerball will set you back by $805 while the ballpoint pen is available for $750.

Besides these three gorgeous pen versions, Montblanc has also been influenced by artist’s another great work- Flowers, 1964. The limited edition 1928 (Warhol’s year of birth) series features four bright colored flower motifs on the cap. Its gray lacquer barrel and platinum-plated fittings are a tribute to Warhol’s legendary studio- The Silver Factory in New York City. Moreover, the cap also features a quote, “You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you.”

Although nowadays many consumers rely on digital devices for note-taking, but these artistic writing instruments will surely encourage people with deep pockets to explore the simplicity of pen and paper all over again.
