Most people nowadays are addicted to the so called ‘selfie trend.’ The very first thing that comes to our mind when we think about selfies is a smartphone. But Panasonic surely wants to change that with the latest Lumix DMC-GF8 camera that’s inclined towards selfie-lovers. With its 16-megapixel sensor and interchangeable-lenses, the mirrorless camera is capable of taking better images compared to a smartphone.
Although an interchangeable-lens camera highlights your flaws, but Panasonic has introduced ‘Beauty Retouch’ feature to enhance your self portraits. It has got effects like Soft Skin, Defocusing, Slimming and many more to make your self portraits more attractive. Hence, the camera is not just focused at selfie lovers- it’s primarily designed for women who are too conscious about their perfect pictures.
Its three-inch touchscreen display can be twisted 180-degrees for taking optimum selfies. To prevent straining your arms while taking a selfie, the camera comes with two built-in self-trigger modes: one is the ‘Face Shutter,’ which will shoot when you wave a hand in front of the camera, and the second one is ‘Buddy Shutter’ that clicks the picture when two faces are detected by the camera.
Moreover, the user can also switch between the right and left shutter buttons, so either hand can be used while taking a self portrait. Besides just selfies, the GF8 has much more to offer such as Panasonic’s Light Speed Autofocus feature. Plus, it can even record video in 1080p HD in AVCHD or MP4 with stereo sound. Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF8 supports 1080/24p recording to add a cinematic style to the videos. Plus, time-lapse and stop motion animations can also be created with this amazing camera.
The high-performance camera can be connected to your smartphone via Wi-Fi connectivity or its accompanying smartphone app. The mobile app is able to control the major functions of the camera like focus, speed, aperture, etc. Sadly, there is no word on its pricing and availability so far, but the camera will be available in brown, silver, pink and orange colors when launched commercially.
