Although it’s not easy to reach this glass-encased cabin in the Alps, but people who succeed are surely going to get an unforgettable experience, while lying under the Milky Way. Located at an altitude of 2,055-meters on snow-capped Dolomite Mountains, the Starlight Room has been installed for adventure seekers by Raniero Campigotto, the owner of the popular mountain lodge Rifugio Col Gallina.

Local artisans have constructed this minimalist cabin using wood, metal and thermally-insulated glass. The glass cabin is set on a pair of skis for easy mobility, and offers 360-degree breathtaking views of mountainous region of Cortina, Italy. After completion the cabin was towed into the scheduled location by a snowmobile. Even guests will have to snowmobile in, as the cabin lies in a remote region.

Inside the cabin, you can find an adjustable bed, heater and lighting to offer a comfortable stay. Only glass walls will separate the warm bed from chilled snowy mountains, while allowing you to gaze and sleep under the twinkling stars. Free from any noise pollution, this remote shelter even lets you witness the changing color from dawn to dusk. Such unparalleled and unobstructed views of the outdoor landscape are not possible to see through a usual camping tent or any other outdoor shelter.

Besides all basic amenities, the glass cabin is also equipped with a TV that plays time-lapse videos of the Dolomite Mountain Ranges. So, it’s up to you that you’d enjoy scenic beauty of the place on the television or simply go out to explore the region yourself. However, there is no bathroom facility in this small cabin. This means the inhabitants are going to face some tough time in the cold region, unless there is some appropriate alternative.

Nevertheless, Starlight Room can easily accommodate two guests at night. So, you can escape the world with your partner and enjoy a comfy stay in middle of the snow-covered mountains. Plus, a traditional breakfast and dinner is included with a stay at the glass cabin. For €300 (approx. US $333), you can make a reservation for the lifetime experience like never before.
